Attention-grabbing title with long-tail keyword you’re trying to rank for

Sample title ideas

  • How to start _______ on a budget
  • How to get more ______
  • How to do ______ fast
  • How to _____ in ______ steps
  • How to Create the Perfect ______

  • This is an outline of how you can structure a “How-to” post. You do not need to follow this exactly if you do not wish
  • Please replace your text with mine
  • Make sure you change the permalink (URL slug) and change all the text before you hit publish
  • Remember people scan blog posts they don’t read them word for word. So keep your paragraphs to 2-3 sentences each and use H2 and H3 headers. I have included them throughout this post so all you have to do is switch out my text for yours.

If you are using affiliate links anywhere in your post you need to include a statement at the very beginning saying something like

This post contains affiliate links.  Please see my disclosure page for more info (Replace my link with yours)

[Replace my text here] Put opening paragraph here (2-3 sentences max) – Speak to the specific pain point that your reader has that this blog post is going to solve. Is this problem leading to frustration? Wasted time? Wasted money? Why should they care about reading this post? What are they going to learn?

Make sure your long-tail keyword is in the first sentence if possible.

Why this problem happens

  • This will be an H2 header
  • It helps your SEO if you include the long-tail keyword you are trying to rank for in some of your headings

[Replace my text here] Paragraph or two (Each no more than a few sentences) about why this problem occurs. Relate to your reader. Why is this an issue they should care about?

How to Overcome/Fix (Problem)

Step #1:

  • You want to make each tip an H3 header
  • Again it helps if you include the long-tail keyword you are trying to rank for in some of these headings

[Replace my text here] Short 2-3 sentence paragraph or two summarizing the first step. This is a helpful, but fairly brief explanation. If there is enough information, you can always flush out a tip into its own separate blog post at a later date.

  • Bullets points work well here too.
  • Include images, screenshots, video etc. to help illustrate the “how-to”

  • You can add in your opt-in form/graphics to break up post (Not after every tip, but a few places throughout)
